Underline: in5 design exhibition

The exhibition explored the role of technology in many of the methods adopted by design startups, whether through the use of 3D printing or aerospace technology to create more efficient, smarter and innovative products and designs.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City said: “in5 aims to be an incubator ecosystem that provides entrepreneurs and start-ups with the best growth conditions. We came to Dubai Design Week to showcase some of the fascinating ongoing in the design space Projects and concepts.”

Through these projects, a wide range of concepts will be studied, including culture, craftsmanship, sustainability, spirituality and health.

KDSV will showcase the stainless steel canopy leading to heaven, which uses pillars and water curtains to create the illusion of a waterfall falling from the sky, as well as a private soundproof environment accessible by the Boostpod public space app, an urban facility that redefines work and life balance.

Another project of in5 startup NYXO Visionary Design is Urban Fossils, an urban cooling system that relies on a porous, fossil-inspired structure to reduce technology through a combination of algorithm-driven design and sand 3D printing.

Other participants in the exhibition include CODE, Neo Architecture, Shatha Essa, Seen Meem Interior Design, Uche by Amber and Stelyx. The latter will showcase innovative folding methods suitable for the aerospace industry at the exhibition. For example, Stelyx’s T-Bench is a bench that can automatically adjust its length to maintain social distance, while Gravity Tree Rack can dry clothes through a design inspired by tree branches, while saving space and time.

5 workshops

In cooperation with partners, in5 Design will also hold a series of seminars during Dubai Design Week.

These conferences cover a wide range of topics. Some will be based on actual demonstrations and hands-on work, such as CNC for laser cutting And robot Milling – The newest member of the in5 Prototype Lab – while others will be more based on theory, such as Pantone’s presentation The role of color Based on the brand recognition and color psychology of color theorist Fatima Al Shirawi.

Sustainability also has a place in the seminars, especially in the field of fashion, by covering Zero waste design For clothing and purchasing Sustainable fabrics And an introduction to sustainable design.

“These seminars not only provide participants with valuable insights into a range of design technical topics, but also provide a platform for our partners to showcase their solutions to a wider audience,” Al Suwaidi said.

“Participants will also have the opportunity to explore our state-of-the-art facilities and see for themselves how prototyping and fashion labs can help entrepreneurs and start-ups.”
