Shinde works as a seaman in a Brazilian company, and every time he travels between Dubai and Rio de Janeiro, he waits for a transfer in Dubai.
When he arrived, Shinde found out that he had won the first prize.
“This is unbelievable. I am still shocked. This is a great opportunity. I am very happy and thankful for Dubai Duty Free. I love Dubai City. I hope to visit soon,” he told the Daily News.
Shinde said that he has been buying lottery tickets regularly for the past two years.
“I want a new car, a new apartment, to save money for my child’s education. So the list is long. The bonus will be used for these purposes,” he told the newspaper.
The Millennial Millionaire Lucky Draw started in 1999, and Shinde was the 181st Indian to win more than $1 million in prizes.
According to the “Daily Mail” report, in the Dubai Duty Free Millennial Millionaire Lucky Draw, Indian nationals had the most ticket sales.
