The second edition of the Abu Dhabi Summer Games (ADSS) in 2023 will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on 27 indoor tracks and playing fields, covering 27,000 square meters of event space.

So, there are two sevens pitches, three futsal pitches, eight padel tennis courts, three basketball courts, two of which are half-sized, six badminton courts, three volleyball courts, a green Under-carpet cricket ground lighting, Technogym cardio and functional exercise center and a kilometer running track.

ADSS 2023 Official Spokesperson Abdulaziz Mohammed said the event aims to encourage community members to live a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.

“The most special thing about this event is that it is an indoor event in an air-conditioned venue in summer,” he told Khaleej Times after the official opening.

Additionally, there will be a host of new competitions and events for individuals, groups, families and exercise enthusiasts of all fitness levels. These include four Champions League matches in football, basketball, badminton and padel tennis, an International Yoga Day event on 21 June, the Aloft Run for Charity on 12 August, a major indoor cycling challenge, and the ringing of the bell and UAE Women’s Day celebrations. Contests and side events have been added to accommodate the high demand and successful turnout in the previous edition.

The event is organized by ADNEC Services, a subsidiary of the ADNEC Group, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, and Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, attended one of the largest events offering bespoke stadiums for athletes and sports enthusiasts.

“ADSS provides sports enthusiasts and all community members with an exceptional sporting event and an opportunity for individuals to increase their physical activity levels during the summer months in an air-conditioned environment of the highest standard,” said Al Dhaheri.

ADSS takes place in Halls 6-11 at ADNEC and welcomes sports enthusiasts daily from 8am to 1am. Those wishing to make reservations can visit the campaign’s website www.adsummersports.ae and its various social media accounts @ADSummerSports.
