Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the pre-launch activities of the International Council on Archives (ICA) Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 began at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on Monday, preceding the official opening scheduled for tomorrow.
The event’s technical program workshops, aimed at providing a unique knowledge experience and exploring various aspects of archival work, were inaugurated today. This year’s Congress, themed “Enriching Knowledge Societies,” brings together global experts, specialists, and thought leaders in the field of archives to delve into the transformative potential of information and access in modern societies.
ICA Congress Abu Dhabi offers a valuable opportunity to engage with professionals and establish direct connections with key players in the Middle East, particularly in archival collection management, digital recordkeeping, and public programming for education and the public, during a time of heightened interest in these fields.
Josée Kirps, President of the International Council on Archives (ICA), highlighted that the ICA Abu Dhabi Congress 2023 serves as a knowledge platform for envisioning the future of the international archiving sector and addressing relevant challenges and opportunities. She emphasized that the UAE’s commitment to future-oriented investments positions it as a global hub for prosperity and development across various sectors.
