UAE’s Jahiz Chosen as One of World Economic Forum’s Top 9 Pioneers in Future Resilience

Launched in November 2022, the “Jahiz” initiative by the UAE government is acknowledged among the top global projects in the World Economic Forum’s “Building a Resilient Tomorrow” report. This recognition highlights the government’s proactive stance in boosting future resilience.

Strategic Collaboration and Design

Developed in partnership between the Government Development and Future Office and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, “Jahiz” aims to upskill government employees. The initiative features a tailored digital platform with virtual modules and masterclasses, making program completion mandatory for all government employees.

Top 9 Global Initiatives: Jahiz

Selected from a pool of over 1,000 global public and private sector projects, “Jahiz” secures a position among the top nine initiatives recognized by the WEF. These projects are categorized into climate, energy, and food; supply chains; and organizational readiness.

Focus on Human Capital Development

With a primary focus on building human capital, “Jahiz” has successfully upskilled 50,000 employees from over 50 government entities. Achieving over 800,000 badges and accumulating one million training hours, the initiative targets future skills such as Data & AI Skills, New Economy Skills, Digital Skills, and productivity-enhancing skills.

Global Validation of Success

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, sees the WEF’s recognition as a global testament to the UAE government’s success in enhancing future readiness. Al Roumi emphasizes the government’s commitment to collaboration with the private sector through the “Jahiz” initiative, showcasing effective cooperation between the public and private sectors in the UAE. The initiative has established partnerships with over 18 global companies and leading government entities, aiming to provide expertise and continuous learning experiences for building specialized skills and customized educational paths.
