Joe Budden Flexes The Growth Of His Podcast While Being Independent And Black-Owned

[ad_1]

Joe Budden slid onto Instagram to let fans and anyone else reading his message how he’s coming behind his brainchild ‘The Joe Budden Podcast.’ On Tuesday, Joe shared a screenshot of a report of the ‘US Top 50 Podcasts Q1 2021-Q4 2021.’ His widely-known platform landed number 37 on the report published with Edison Research.

Joe Better Brag

“Independent. No backing. Black owned. New co-hosts. No ads,” Joe Budden wrote over top the report screenshot. “No integrations placed in the audio. Opened the market. Said no to the offers. Staffed over 30 through a pandemic. No loans. No gimmicks.”

He wrote that no guests are handouts added to his 2021 success. Joe added, “Just Joe. Some of y’all know who the f*ck I am.”

On January 7, he celebrated crossing his 500th episode of the episode saying, “here’s to many more.”

The moment is a cause for celebration. Last year, the popular show saw the departure of longtime hosts and friends Jamil ‘Mal’ Clay and Rory Farrell. Joe fired Rory in a solo segment amid money disputes. He apologized to both former co-hosts in the follow up episode.

Still, an October article says Mal and Rory found another pod home with SiriusXM’s Stitcher. Per the announcement, the duo would keep 100 percent ownership for their work.

“I’m excited that the creative agenda for this show will be to push the show forward rather than push a particular person forward,” Rory said at the time. “There’s so much we can do when egos are stripped, when our actual focus is not a personality, it’s the show. That’s what I’m excited for.”

And Joe kept moving forward, as he mentioned, he found new co-hosts to speak through current events in the music and entertainment industry.

Early January, he had a viral moment after unloading a message targeting the hosts of the ‘Fresh and Fit’ podcast.

“I don’t know these 2 Doofs but they don’t get to do this. Too ignorant, inexperienced, insecure, fragile and weak for this stale gimmick to not be seen through,” Joe wrote. “Black women are everything, ESPECIALLY beautiful!! Every kind of beautiful too, so to hear this?!? From them?!? Lol it’s laughable.. but it’s not.”
