Vince Vaughn has a ‘good idea’ for a ‘Dodgeball’ sequel – but Ben Stiller is ‘cautious’ about making it
Justin Long has revealed that he has discussed the idea of making a follow-up to the 2004 film with his co-stars, and while he “likes” reprising his role as Justin Redman in the Vince Project’s story, he admits that not every Individuals are convinced by potential projects.
The 44-year-old actor explained that he and Vince discussed a possible sequel while working on the upcoming holiday film “Christmas with Campbell,” so he felt he had to “assist” between his friend and Ben Set up a meeting. The star of Night at the Museum was featured on the June ‘Life Is Short’ podcast.
justin told Comic Book Network“So I’m with Vince a lot, and Vince keeps telling me he has a great sequel idea.
“I don’t know if he has thrown the ball to Ben, but I kind of set up the pitch and I feel like I should facilitate the pitch.
“Of course, I’d love to do that, and I hope it happens eventually, but I think Ben kind of, what he told me on that podcast is that he’s a little bit intimidated about making a sequel to something so beloved, and some people are really enjoying it.
“It’s very risky, you don’t want to screw up on the original, you want something just as good.
“So I think [Ben is] A little wary of this and don’t want to try to recreate what was very specific at the time, but I hope he’ll take it. “
But Justin hopes Vince can change Ben’s mind.
He added: “Vince is a very persuasive person, so I just hope Vince can convince him with his idea. It’s an interesting idea and I don’t want to say what it is.”
During Ben’s appearance on the podcast, he confirmed to Justin that he and Vince — who played rival gym owners Wright Goodman and Pete LaFleur — discussed ideas for a follow-up to the hit comedy.
He said: “It’s a good idea. I’m just – I think – the sequel, the aftermath.
