London – (Business Wire)–pixel media1A Kalray CompanyAnnounced today, pixstor™ and ngenea®, a shared storage and data orchestration solution, will be included in the content production area of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) booth (5.C80) at IBC 2022.
AWS will demonstrate an end-to-end cloud production workflow, showing how to perform a complete production in the cloud using industry-leading editing, compositing, finishing, color grading, and quality control (QC) tools. These workflows will be supported by pixitmedia’s flagship products, pixstor and ngenea software-defined storage and orchestration software.
Prior to this, pixitmedia had been accepted into the AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerator Program, a co-sell program for AWS partners who offer software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS.
Offline editing, visual effects (VFX), and color grading work can not only be done in the cloud, but offer producers huge and tangible benefits in terms of performance, collaboration, scalability, and cost efficiency.
At IBC booth 5.C80, AWS will demonstrate the media creation lifecycle in five phases. Capture live camera footage into a cloud collaboration environment using the prototyping platform Moxion. The footage will be edited in Adobe® Premiere® Pro and adjusted in Flame®, Autodesk®’s finishing and VFX solution. The fourth stage will demonstrate FilmLight Baselight performing color grading, and finally, the content will go through the Colorfront Streaming and Broker Service for QC, which also reads directly from Amazon S3.
High-resolution, uncompressed 4K media used in all five stages of the production process will be edited live on a robust media-centric storage infrastructure powered by pixstor and ngenea, with 10-bit uncompressed video running from the cloud application streaming to stand. It will use the latest AWS Cloud Digital Interface (AWS CDI), NewTek Network Device Interface (NDI), and Colorfront Streaming and Proxy Services technologies over a secure internet connection to Amazon VPC. Amazon EC2 compute, Amazon Elastic Block Store, and Amazon S3 storage are the foundation of the entire pixstor and ngenea solution.
Ben Leaver, EVP of Business Development and co-founder of pixitmedia, explained:
“We look forward to showing our storage and data orchestration platform to the media and entertainment industry at the AWS booth at IBC. Together with AWS and industry standard software providers, we will demonstrate that high-end editing, VFX and Color grading work. We are providing our customers with ease of use, guaranteed performance, better collaboration and a seamless workflow in the cloud.”
pixitmedia is a global member of the AWS Partner Network (APN) and an industry facilitator of cloud-enabled production workflows. pixstor provides AWS customers with an agile storage environment that guarantees adaptability and performance. Combined with the power of pixitmedia’s ngenea, it can quickly and securely transfer data between globally distributed clouds, object storage and traditional network attached storage (NAS).
