Earlier this week, Carl-Anthony Towns sat down on Taraji P. Henson’s show “Peace of Mind with Taraji” to discuss how his girlfriend Jordyn Woods helped him when he lost his mother Jacqueline Cruz-Towns due to COVID.
When talking about his mother, Downs said that it is difficult to see her suffering, “It is difficult, because as her son and the person who loves her deeply, I just don’t want to see her suffering, so I’m trying to do everything possible. Make her comfortable and make her get better sooner.” Downs continued, “I am doing my best. COVID has caused a lot of swelling, and the swelling is what hurts my mother.”
Downs also detailed how his mother’s death changed him. “From that day on, I feel that this world has made me a little bit colder.”
Talking about how Jordyn understood the loss of his parents and how they became friends, he said that she knew he was experiencing the loss of his mother. “I rely on her because she is one of the only people who really understands my feelings and experiences, because she is very close to her father, just as I am very close to my mother,” he said.
Towns also said that his mother told him that she would not leave him alone, “A woman who means a lot to me let my life be replaced by another woman to take that position, Tang Si said, “We are best friends…When my mother died, she said,’I won’t leave you alone. I will make sure you know who you should be with. ‘”
Must love black love!
