Bleacher Report, in partnership with Mitchell & Ness, announced today that it has “remixed” five classic NBA team jerseys with input from five hip-hop artists who claim various clubs in their hometowns.
Los Angeles-based record label Top Dawg Entertainment, home to Schoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad and more, has redesigned jerseys for your Los Angeles Lakers. Brand staple Jay Rock, a Watts native whose triple-platinum single “King’s Dead” won a Grammy in 2019 starring Kendrick Lamar, Future and James Black, showcased the black and a gold mesh Lakers jersey with the signature lettering of the sports team “Wats Lakers”.
Top Dawg’s TDE branding adorns the top left and bottom right corners of the jersey, as well as the back where the player’s name is usually listed. The jersey number is “04”, arranged vertically, representing the year Top Dawg Entertainment was founded.
