Le Méridien Mauritius hotel in $60 million renovation

Le Méridien Ile Maurice, a five-star resort in Mauritius on a 1km stretch of sandy beach at Pointe aux Piments on the north-west coast, has announced a massive $60 million renovation that reimagines the property.

With 261 newly designed rooms and suites, an adults-only wing, a world-class spa and fitness center, three swimming pools, and four restaurants and three bars to choose from, Le Méridien Ile Maurice is for the most discerning traveler A must-see for adventure and relaxation.

The 261 rooms and suites are designed with modern luxury in mind, each with stunning ocean views and an outdoor patio or balcony. The colour palette draws inspiration from the hotel’s surroundings, with natural creams and whites with a pop of blue. The custom headboard reflects the rustic materials found on the island, with locally designed fabrics adding a touch of character. Bathrooms have been redesigned to the highest specification with separate shower and large oval bathtub, marble floors, plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries.

Nirvana for adults only
Nirvana, the adults-only wing of the resort, has 51 rooms and suites with panoramic views of the sea or the resort’s beautiful gardens. In addition to the well-appointed deluxe and superior rooms, the 16 Nirvana Prestige suites have private plunge pools and separate bar and living areas. With 1615 square feet of space, the Royal Suite takes luxury to a new level, complete with expansive terraces overlooking the ocean, and dedicated butler service to satisfy your every desire.

Nirvana also benefits from a private infinity pool and poolside bar, complimentary poolside tea, coffee and soft drink service as well as daily sunset cocktails and snacks.

Innovative flavors and culinary creations
Le Méridien Ile Maurice has four restaurants and three bars – Latitude 20, Nirvana Pool Bar (adults only) and Papaya Bar, which means guests have plenty to choose from. With its open kitchen, expansive terrace and 180-degree panoramic views, Nomad serves international cuisine, while for a taste of Mauritius, head to the beachfront Zoli Mamzel restaurant. Other delicacies on offer include Italian cuisine at Paparazzi restaurant and perfect Indian cuisine at Kumin restaurant.

For the ultimate in luxury and romance, dine on the hotel pier under the stars, accompanied by the beat of the waves, providing the perfect soundtrack for your bespoke dining experience.

Escape Discovery Spa
Inspired by the rich heritage of European spa culture, the new-look Discovery Spa has been redesigned by world-renowned designer Paul Bishop. A place to relax and rejuvenate, facilities include a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and plunge pool, as well as the first and only snow hut in Mauritius in partnership with Phytomer.

This icy new health feature is the ideal counterpart to traditional saunas, offering the opportunity for hot and cold contrast therapies that have been shown to provide many health benefits, including improved joint and muscle function, blood circulation, and the immune system. In addition, there is a hair salon, fitness center, relaxation garden and yoga studio, as well as five treatment rooms.
