M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller is coming in 2024 Entertainment

M. Night Shyamalan will release a new thriller with Universal in 2024.

The 52-year-old director will continue a lucrative partnership with the studio with an upcoming untitled film set to hit theaters on April 5, 2024.

His previous collaborations with Universal include 2015’s The Visit, 2017’s Split, 2019’s Glass, 2021’s Old, and the upcoming February 3, 2023 release Knock at the Cabin.

“Knock The Cabin” stars Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge, who are killed in a cabin in the woods by Dave Bautista, Ruper Four villains, played by T Grint and Nicky Amka-Bird, take hostage and Abby Quinn.

The film is based on The Cabin at the End of the World by author Paul Tremblay.

Paul recently said: “Honestly, I’ve spent most of the spring of 2022 quelling speculation on the internet and putting out the Twitter fire linking books and movies.

“It reached a point in early June, however, with all the information there, including the IMDb page, it became impossible.

“I’ve been doing my best to respect the desire of film marketing and certainly not dream of breaking anything.

“As with most adaptations, there will be some changes and differences in the story compared to the original, so my readers will still be surprised by this film.”

Shyamalan signed FilmNation’s options for the film back in 2017 and had a director on the project, but things “didn’t work out.”

Tremblay added: “When the first director didn’t work out, Knight was still interested in producing, which made him want to rewrite the script and direct it as well.”

The film is said to have a 1990s thriller feel.

The authors explain: “‘The Cabin at the World’s End’ is itself a reaction to the subgenre of home invasion movies.

“Most of me are excited and curious about the prospect of seeing my story re-imagined or refracted on screen.

“But I’d be lying if I said I was selfless about the whole experience. This novel means a lot to me.”
