Mace wins construction contract for massive DMCC tower

Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) has appointed global consultancy and construction firm Mace as the construction operations management entity for its upcoming Uptown Tower.

Designed by internationally acclaimed architects Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, it is the first tower to be built within Dubai Residences.

Set to launch in the coming months, the 340-meter skyscraper will house a 188-room five-star luxury hotel – “SO/ Uptown Dubai”, SO/-branded residential and commercial office space, and exclusive food and beverage offerings in Dubai Courtyard.

Announcing the key appointment, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Bin Sulayem said: “Uptown Tower represents the first major milestone in the development of the wider Uptown Dubai region. Matching the tower’s premium status with a leading operations management company It is vital to ensure the highest level of service for our office tenants, residents and all those who visit Residential Dubai.”

“The appointment of Mace is the latest step in cementing the tower’s position as one of the most sought-after destinations in Dubai and the region,” he said.

DMCC noted that the premium Grade A commercial office space on the 22nd floor of Uptown Tower was fully pre-leased prior to launch.

Bin Sulayem said Mace brought its international expertise to Uptown Tower, ensuring a comprehensive delivery of industry-leading construction services, delivering a product that reflected the premium nature of the 81-storey tower.

He added that the dedicated Mace operations team will bring additional value to Uptown Tower through facilities management services focused on residents, commercial office tenants and visitors.

Ross Abbate, CEO of Mace Operate, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by DMCC to manage Uptown Tower’s building operations and facilities, playing a driving role in maintaining the tower’s premium status for years to come.”

Launching prior to the official launch of Uptown Tower, Mace will implement basic operational governance, policies, procedures and standards to enable the efficient delivery of its services.

These services include building maintenance, contract management, building strategies and more, all designed to enhance the functionality and longevity of buildings while creating a safe and comfortable environment for occupants, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
