Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi and Eli Lilly Suisse SA sign partnership declaration to support clinical research and healthcare innovation

ABU DHABI, UAE, June 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH), the UAE’s healthcare industry regulator, and global healthcare leader Eli Lilly and Company have signed a partnership statement. As the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the partnership strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for healthcare and life sciences by seeking to establish a framework for clinical research, real-world evidence and healthcare technology collaboration.

The partnership declaration was signed by: Dr. Asma Al Mannaei, Executive Director, Research and Innovation Center, Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health and Irina ZaporozhetsLilly Vice President and General Manager Middle East.

Dr AS Asthma Al Mannaei Said: “Through international collaboration, Abu Dhabi seeks to lead a research group supported by global partners to explore the resilience and sustainability of the global healthcare industry and deliver quality care to patients. Guided by our wise leadership, Abu Dhabi is Paving the way for the region’s transformative journey through innovation, life sciences and valuable partnerships with global players in the field. Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) is proud to partner with Lilly to further improve healthcare outcomes , while delivering quality care and delivering breakthrough treatments to patients in Abu Dhabi and beyond.”

The parties will drive clinical research and life sciences activities in the UAE, with a focus on oncology, diabetes and neurological diseases, while leveraging Abu Dhabi’s growing healthcare and life sciences infrastructure and capabilities.

Abu Dhabi delegation led by Ministry of Health to visit US on June 1Yingshi2023 and June 8day2023 showcases partnership opportunities in the UAE and explores collaborations with leading organizations in R&D, manufacturing and health innovation.

The delegation’s mission will conclude in Boston, coinciding with Abu Dhabi’s participation in Bio International 2023 to showcase the growth and development of the emirate’s biotech industry.
