MadonnaHis older brother, Anthony Ciccone, has died at the age of 66.According to reports multiple reportsAnthony died Saturday after his health declined over the past few months.
Anthony’s brother-in-law, musician Joe Henry, who is wed to Madonna’s sister Melanie Ciccone, was the first to share the news in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“My brother-in-law Anthony Gerard Ciccone left this earthly plane last night. I’ve known him since I was 15 years old in the spring of our life in Michigan. As brother Dave Henry (who brought pointing out here that Anthony is a complicated character; God knows: we sometimes get entangled, like real brothers. But I love him and know him better than I sometimes care to let on,” Henry Wrote and took notes on their often complex relationship.
“But the trouble is over; the family is still there — with hands across the table,” he continued. “Farewell, Brother Anthony. I think the God of your (and my) blessed mother is there, waiting to greet you. At least today, no one will stop me from giving up on that vision.”

Madonna was one of eight children who grew up in Michigan, page sixit is believed that Anthony was alive at the time of his death.
According to the outlet, the pop icon and her siblings have had a strained relationship with Anthony over the years as he battled substance abuse. Anthony was reportedly homeless at one point and had been living under a bridge in Michigan.
In a 2013 interview daily mailAnthony spoke out against his famous sister and his family, telling the media they didn’t care about him.
“In their eyes, I’m a zero — a non-human. I’m an embarrassment. If I freeze to death, my family probably won’t know or care about it for six months,” Anthony reportedly said at the time .
“My dad would be happy if I died of hypothermia and then he wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. He’s old school, he grew up with depression,” he continued, before claiming that he and the Vogue singer ” Never loved each other.”
“I never loved her in the first place and she never loved me. We never loved each other,” Anthony claimed.
