Major entertainment facility to open at Milford Mall

MILFORD, Conn. — FUNBOX, the world’s “largest bounce park,” is coming to the state’s largest mall, the Connecticut Post Mall, and will remain there through most of the summer, officials say.

“The world’s largest Bounce Park® is coming to the East Coast for the first time, and it’s going to be non-stop fun all summer long! FUNBOX is 25,000 square feet, Inflatable playground with 10 play areasincluding Tumble Temple, Marshmallow Mountain, Gumball’s Gallop, and a huge obstacle course big enough for the whole family,” Milford Mall officials said on its website.

A new entertainment attraction will open on June 9th. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday 10:30am to 6pm. It will be located in the rear car park opposite Dave & Buster’s on East Town Road.this Bounce Park will remain open As of Sept. 4, according to Hearst CT.

Opening weekend only, tickets start at $12. Beginning Monday, June 12, general admission to the roughly 90-minute jump course will be $22, and all guests must have a paid general admission ticket, mall officials said.

Infants 0-2 years old and senior citizens over 65 years old are free when accompanied by ticket holders. Buying tickets online in advance is recommended for guaranteed admission; any unused or unscanned tickets will be honored within 30 days of the original ticket date, officials said. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult who must remain in the FUNBOX when their child is in the inflatable toy.

Malls across the country have been struggling to adapt to the changing business environment as retailing moves online. Some malls are experimenting with new and unique events and entertainment to fill the space, while others are trying to convert vacant retail space into a mix of residential and retail.

A mall in Connecticut plans to add a large pickle ball facility.Milford Shopping Center had tried to convert part of its property into High-end apartment complex. The city of Milford has so far rejected those plans.
