Marangoni Academy opens in Dubai DIFC

DUBAI – Marangoni College, one of the world’s leading fashion and design schools, officially opened its campus today in the Dubai International Financial District. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Giuseppe Finocchiaro, Consul General of Italy in Dubai; Marwa El Ettr, Head of Commercial and Cultural Affairs, Consulate General of Italy in Dubai; Roberto La iacona, Director of School – Istituto Marangoni Dubai; Elena Marinoni, Director of Education at Marangoni College Dubai, and academics of the school and other representatives of the management team.

Istituto Marangoni Dubai will offer a range of three-year undergraduate programmes including interior design, product design, visual design, fashion and accessories design, fashion business and fashion styling and creative direction, as well as professional and short courses covering different aspects of fashion and design industry. Classes for incoming freshmen will begin on September 19.

Some internationally renowned and award-winning fashion and design stars, including Domenico Dolce, Franco Moschino, Alessandro Sartori, Rahul Mishra and Rafael Lopez, graduated from Marangoni With Gurney College, we now want to support the growth and development of fashion, design in the UAE by nurturing a new generation of local talent and creative industries.”

Located at Gate 8 of the DIFC, Istituto Marangoni Dubai offers students a modern and stylish environment with all industry and sector specific facilities, including drawing and sketching rooms, patterning and cutting rooms, fabric library, fashion and design library and an outdoor Terrace. The realization of the prestigious 1,050-square-meter campus was directed by Italian architect Giulio Cappellini, who also designed furniture for the school, including chairs, tables and sofas.

70% of the academic staff at the Marangoni Academy are from Italy, with the rest recruited locally to provide students with an innovative “learning by doing” teaching method that combines traditional academic research with creative and practical activities.

With its international network of eight established schools in Milan, Florence, Paris, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Miami, students also have the opportunity to start at one school and finish at another through the cross-school study option study.
