Mark Strong joins the cast of “Silent Hour”.
The 59-year-old star will star alongside Joel Kinnaman in the action thriller directed by Brad Anderson.
The crime drama will be set in Boston, with Kinnaman playing a police detective who is hearing impaired due to a work accident.
Sixteen months later—as a police department interpreter—he and his partner (Strong) battle a team of corrupt officials who try to eliminate a deaf murder witness in an apartment building.
The script is being written by Dan Hall and production will begin in early 2023.
Stuart Ford’s ACG Studios will co-finance and produce the film with Eric Paquette’s Meridan Pictures.
Strong previously revealed he missed his chance to play the James Bond villain after a drunken night with future 007 Daniel Craig – with whom he starred in the TV series We Friends of the North”.
The “Shazam!” star recalled: “I played the villain in one of Pierce Brosnan’s films – I can’t remember which one – and I’ve learned my lines.
“And I’m pretty cocky about it. Because when I started auditioning, you didn’t study your lines, you just read them with the director.
“But the night before, Danny and I went out for a drink – that was before he became Bond. Unfortunately, I was a bit too drunk.”
Mark appeared alongside George Clooney in the 2005 film “Syriana” and explained that he was terrified of being violent towards the Hollywood star and ended up injuring his back at the scene.
He said: “It’s a big responsibility, when he chose to fall and still be strapped to the chair, he was actually on his back.
“I met him a few years later and thought I was responsible, but he pardoned me.”
