ABU DHABI – Emirates ADQ Team, the UAE’s first professional women’s cycling team, has announced that its star rider, Marta Bastianelli, will join the team management, becoming the first woman in the cycling industry (male and female) to lead riders.
After nearly two decades of an illustrious career, Marta Bastianelli has decided to retire from professional cycling in July 2023, taking on a key role with the Emirates ADQ team.
After the Giro d’Orne, Marta will take on the driver’s seat, using her extensive experience to enhance the team’s overall approach to athlete health. The appointment underscores the team’s commitment to prioritizing the physical, mental and emotional health of athletes, ensuring peak performance on and off the bike.
