Marwan Bibi,How New Visions and Creative Approach Uplifted His Company

Marwan Bibi is the President & CEO of Means Marketing Est. He founded the company in 1984, and the journey has been going since then. Through his company, Mr. Marwan wanted to help medium to large multinational companies enter the MENA region. He focuses on helping these companies to access the lucrative markets in the MENA region and get started with their brands and products.

Mr. Marwan’s primary goal is to get enhanced knowledge of the markets and services, which helps his company to understand the customers more. He feels teamwork is the most prominent part of his company that helps them grow as a company. Creative problem solving is his primary business strategy.   • Explain the background of you and the company in detail.

I am a graduate of the American University of Beirut with a major in Marketing. I worked 15 years with multinationals starting with Kodak Near East Inc. in 1970, leading to PEPSICO International, where I was the Marketing Vice President for the Middle East region.

I founded Means Marketing Est. in 1984, intending to help medium to large multinationals entering the MENA Region gain access to its lucrative markets and establish its products and brands.

Our marketing services encompass all aspects of the four Ps, with special emphasis on appointing qualified and specialized distributors to establish and develop brands while maintaining growth over the years.

  • What are your goals Marwan Bibi?

Our goals are to grow our knowledge of markets and services to satisfy our customer’s needs in line with their consumers. Our experience is our forte coupled with our qualified personnel committed to our goals and our company.

  • What do you feel is the biggest strength of yourself/company right now?

Our strength is our team experience and vision to meet the market challenges of the future.

  • What was the path you/your company took to get to where you are today?

In my entire journey with Means Marketing, I put the focus on teamwork. It was helpful for us to grow as a team. We started with selling our services, and once we got to a pace, our journey began. Creative thinking, hard work, and teamwork guided us in making our company the way it is now.

  • Marwan Bibi, why did you start (or want to be the head of) this company?

My longtime objective was to be an entrepreneur in my field. It was enough stamina or incentive to get me started.

  • What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Selling our services was a real challenge at the start as prospects could only foresee regional offices and not shared services. Loads of efforts were exerted to convince them of the viability of our services. With the first client on board, it became easier for new clients to come forward.

Problem solver.

  • What makes you excited about Mondays?

The first day of work is exciting as every week brings different challenges, especially in current times.

  • What do you value most about your culture and vision?

I mainly value teamwork as any exchange of ideas brings a new vision.

  • Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.

The selection of a partner in markets is always a challenge that forces us to be creative in our approach as we look for interactivity and responsiveness. “Best is not always suitable.”

  • What are the strategies of your company, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?

“Creative problem solving” is always our primary strategy to excel in in-depth assistance to our clients.

  • What are the key values which helped you to overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?

As teamwork is highly valued in our profession, having the right team in place is one, and gaining its loyalty is another. In this region, monetary remunerations are key, but we always try to gain loyalty with the right shared bonuses. I built a coherent team of loyal employees with diversified experiences to meet the challenges of the future.

  • How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?

In the next two years, we see the scope of our services evolving as we go deeper into our client’s issues in the marketplace.

  • Where is your leadership going? What benefits do your clients are getting from your company in this competitive world?

My leadership is to create and keep a team in place that can meet future challenges. Whether I am present or I retire, the company must keep going and excelling in its approach to serve its clients perfectly.

  • What your company offers services/solutions or products at par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services?

We are different in that we are proactive with our clients, and we do go deep into their issues to find the right solution to their problems. We interact daily in most cases to reach the right solution with our clients, aiming at unified goals.

We also understand their vision and draw together their long-term strategic plans to keep us on the same path of success.
