[ad_1]

Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, met with the tourism ministers of Oman, Egypt and Jordan during ITB Berlin 2023 to explore ways to promote investment exchanges in the sector.

During the meeting, Bin Touq said that the UAE’s tourism industry is full of investment opportunities across its various sub-sectors – from advanced infrastructure to attractive and diverse destinations.

Bin Touq said: “As tourism is an important pillar of our new economic model, the UAE has put in a lot of effort in developing legislation to manage the country’s tourism industry and initiating initiatives that will attract investment.”

Talks were held with Salem bin Muhammad Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Museum; Ahmed Isa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt; and Makram Al Queisi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan.

Bin Touq highlighted the UAE’s strong relations with Oman, Egypt and Jordan, emphasizing the country’s desire to strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially tourism, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of all partner countries.

The meeting highlighted the diverse capabilities of the UAE’s tourism industry, including its leading infrastructure, quality services and amenities, advanced hospitality, diverse destinations, rich heritage, stable and safe climate, and multiculturalism and tolerance society. Initiatives aimed at promoting the development of forward-looking innovative mechanisms and strategies to ensure the sector’s sustainability, flexibility and regional and global competitiveness also formed part of the discussion.

When meeting Salem bin Muhammad Al Mahrouqi, Bin Touq stressed the need to open new channels for tourism activities between the UAE and Oman, increasing passenger numbers and air connectivity. Oman ranks second in the market for sending tourists to Dubai in 2022, accounting for 20% of total Omani tourists to different countries, thanks to excellent connectivity between the two countries, with national airlines operating nearly 100 flights. “

In a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Bintuk explored ways to promote cooperation in this field by promoting investment exchanges and leveraging the tourism capabilities of both parties. HE said that the Egyptian market is one of the main source markets providing more than 2 million hotel nights for the UAE tourism industry.

The Economy Minister also met with the Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Alquisi, during which he emphasized the special relationship between the two countries. In view of the growing demand for tourism, the meeting discussed strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector. Both sides agreed on the need to work together to promote tourism exchanges between the two countries, especially since Jordan is one of the main contributors to the tourism movement in the UAE. – trade arab news agency
