Michael Schumacher’s son posts tribute to racing icon | Entertainment

[ad_1]

Michael Schumacher’s son is paying tribute to the racing icon ahead of the 10th anniversary of his father’s crash.

Fans have demanded clarity on the racer’s status after Mick Schumacher updated his Instagram profile picture with a picture of his father holding him as a child.

The anniversary of the Formula 1 hero’s 2013 ski accident in the French Alps, which left him with serious brain injuries, is still a few months away.

The photo sparked debate among fans over whether Meek was simply paying tribute to his dad ahead of the anniversary of the event, or if it was a mysterious update on Michael’s condition.

Some called it a “cute photo,” while others speculated brutally about Michael’s possible health and whether his brain was functioning properly.

The family had previously come under pressure to keep Michael’s health a secret, with one of his former managers demanding they share the truth with the public.

Willie Webber, 80, slammed Michael’s wife Corinne, 53, and Ferrari boss Jean Todt, 76, in a recent interview with Italian sports newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport, saying: “I tried hundreds of times to contact Corinne. Lina, but she didn’t answer. I called Jean Todt and asked if I should go to the hospital and he told me to wait – it was too early.

“I called the next day but no one answered. I didn’t expect this behavior and I’m still angry about it.

“They shut me out and told me it was too early, it was too late. It’s been nine years. Maybe they should just say it as it is.”

Michael’s son Mick, 23, entered Formula One with the Haas team last year and scored 12 points in 43 races, and recently signed with Mercedes as reserve driver for Lewis Hamilton.

Seven-time world champion Michael retired at the end of the 2006 season after winning 91 Formula One grands prix, but returned to race for Mercedes in 2009 before retiring again three years later.
