It’s that time again! International Fashion Week has begun, launching today in New York. While the fashion focus in the coming weeks will be on New York, London, Milan and Paris, the UAE will still play an important role, with plenty of designers representing the region this season.

Bahraini womenswear label Noon by Noor was founded in 2008 by designers Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa. The label’s style is modern and minimal, with an emphasis on clean silhouettes, bold prints and subtle embellishments. Their refined aesthetic embodies playful femininity.

What to expect from Fashion Week: Their Fall/Winter 2016 ready-to-wear collection should complement the brand’s Spring/Summer 2016 “Sports & Formal” collection. Expect a return to simple silhouettes and modest sophistication.

Beirut, Lebanon-based fashion designer Reem Acra is known for his meticulous attention to detail, modern outlook and unique tailoring. After conquering the bridal gown industry, she expanded her label to ready-to-wear and evening wear. Her designs have been spotted on red carpets around the world and worn by A-list celebrities including Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry.

BEDOUIN will be presented as part of the BFC Designers’ Showroom at London Fashion Week 2016 from 19th to 23rd February. The label was designed and developed by Central Saint Martins graduate Andraya Farrag, who studied in Dubai and now lives between the two cities. The contemporary womenswear label creates ready-to-wear collections with confidence and impulsive style. BEDOUIN’s “less is more” philosophy is inspired by the nomadic life of the Bedouin tribe – symbolizing Andraya’s well-traveled life.

Sandra Monsour studied fashion design in Paris before returning to her hometown of Beirut, Lebanon to open her studio. Her two lines, bridal and ready-to-wear, are presented twice a year in Paris, and this season is no exception. The label is known for its opulent designs, fabrics and finishes, as well as modern embroidery techniques and a radiant aesthetic.

Mochi has been selected to present its Fall 2016 collection at the Polly King & Co showroom from March 3rd to 9th. Founded by Palestinian-born, Dubai-based designer Ayah Tabari, Mochi is the world’s most sought-after ethical brand today, providing ongoing support for stitching communities around the world. Influenced by different cultures, it’s expressed in its quirky use of traditional fabrics and signature pompoms for an urban feel.
