The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has taken a step forward in its mission to empower its workforce by partnering with Coursera, one of the world’s top online learning platforms.
Under the agreement, employees of MoHAP will have the opportunity to attend dedicated educational courses and workshops as part of a comprehensive education and training program aimed at empowering them with future skills to support the digital transformation process. The partnership is in line with the UAE Government’s vision to provide employees with the tools necessary to remain competitive and innovative in today’s rapidly evolving job market.
Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, and Zac Rule, Vice President of Coursera, signed the partnership agreement at the ministry’s offices in Dubai, in the presence of several senior officials from both parties.
The agreement sets out a comprehensive training program prioritizing the development of staff competencies in leadership, technical and behavioral skills, aimed at increasing their effectiveness, quality and professionalism in line with the Ministry’s plans and strategies.
In addition, the program will provide employees with interdisciplinary digital transformation skills, taught by top global trainers through educational programs accredited by leading international universities. This will provide them with the opportunity to obtain a certificate recognized and recognized by these bodies.
The agreement also provides for the establishment of a strong link between the Ministry’s strategic priorities and training needs, and the provision of training programs to enhance the individual competencies and skills of employees. This in turn helps to increase job satisfaction within the department.
Al Dashti said MoHAP’s partnership with Coursera reflects its commitment to empowering its workforce and equipping them with the skills they will need for the future. Modern training and development concepts are an integral part of the human resource development system, and the UAE government seeks to implement them as a strategic option to keep pace with changing job demands. Through training, employees gain technical and practical knowledge to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing work environment.
Al Dashti further noted that the agreement provides employees with better access to a wide range of professional and behavioral training courses and workshops, thereby enhancing their ability to provide first-class medical services to the community. He emphasized that fruitful collaborations and strategic partnerships with public and private sector agencies had positively impacted the capabilities and skills of the Ministry of Health staff, resulting in increased productivity, improved performance efficiency, and improved national health indicators.
