Mona, a passionate and skilled journalist, will be leaving our fantastic overnight team, co-anchor of “World News Now” and “America This Morning”. On the anchor station, in addition to overnight breaking news, Mona covered the protests following the murder of George Floyd, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the economy and the collapse of an apartment in Surfside, Florida. During this time, she has also contributed to our shows and platforms, including “Good Morning America,” “David Muir’s World News Tonight,” “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and “ABC News Live” Prime”.

Mona first stepped into the doors of ABC News in January 2019 as a multi-platform reporter in Washington, D.C. In that role, she covered a variety of stories, including the administration of former President Donald Trump and the 2020 presidential election. She is a valued member of our robust political reporting team, providing nonstop Trump impeachment coverage to our affiliates.

Prior to joining ABC, Mona was an anchor and reporter for WEWS, an ABC affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio. At WEWS, she reports on the political and economic factors affecting Northeast Ohio’s most vulnerable communities, as well as the impact of Trump’s immigration policies on the state.
