T10 Sports Federation chairman Shaji Mulk said they will approach former India captain MS Dhoni to play for the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Mulk further stated that Dhoni advised them on league strategy before the start of this T10 tournament. Dhoni is regarded as a cricket legend. Dhoni retired as one of India’s most successful captains, captaining the team for decades and winning three ICC titles. The Ranchi-born cricketer is still active in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

“Dhoni has had a big impact on T10. He advised us before the league. We will definitely approach him when he retires,” T10 league chairman Shaji Mulk told ANI. While fans won’t see Dhoni’s brilliance again at the international level, the goalkeeper captain continues to surprise opponents in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he captains the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Season 6 of the Abu Dhabi T10 saw the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Alex Hales, Suresh Raina, David Miller, Wanindu Hasaranga, Kieron Pollard and Eoin Morgan light up the night at Abu Dhabi’s iconic Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Talking further about more players joining the league, “BCCI rules allow retired players to enter the league. Big players like Robin Uthappa will be playing next year. Players like Suresh Raina are already joining the league. Many Indian players are already among them Part, many have kept in touch with us and all we need is permission from BCCI.” In the Abu Dhabi T10, 8 teams will compete for the top prize through 33 matches, with the final scheduled for December 4.
