NAMA will hold a dynamic dialogue on the future of women’s socio-economic empowerment at Expo 2020 Dubai – Dubai Blog

As 191 countries prepare to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, NAMA Women’s Promotion Organization (NAMA) is ready to use this opportunity to advance its agenda to promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment on the global stage.

NAMA will be exhibited at the Women’s Pavilion from October 2021 to March 2022. NAMA will engage in impact-driven / dynamic discussions with many stakeholders and partners, policy makers, international and grassroots organizations to pass the society through- Improve the economic status of women.

NAMA, together with its three affiliates, the Sharjah Businesswomen Committee (SBWC), Irthi Contemporary Crafts Committee (Irthi) and Badiri Education and Development College (Badiri), will lead 12 round table debates and panel discussions, as well as some interaction and influence- Promote seminars to identify ways to resolve obstacles to women’s full integration into society and the economy.

From seminars aimed at raising awareness and sharing best practices to promote gender-inclusive workplaces to panel discussions that articulate gender-sensitive budgets to achieve gender equality outcomes, NAMA and its affiliates will mobilize efforts to address emerging and existing gender Gap to create lasting change.

NAMA articulates women’s inclusive and gender-sensitive strategies

In October, NAMA will host a panel discussion with outstanding male and female leaders in the private sector to establish a case for women’s inclusion and emphasize the need for men to support women’s inclusion. An interactive seminar for marketing, media, and content professionals in December will share best practices in communication strategies to promote gender-sensitive information and debunk prejudice.

In January 2022, NAMA will cooperate with UN Women to hold panel discussions and seminars to discuss gender-sensitive procurement as a transformation strategy to achieve global sustainable development goals.

Prior to the six-month event, NAMA Director ReemBinKaram said: “The Expo 2020 Dubai emphasizes the UAE’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment because of this It is the first World Expo to have an independent women’s pavilion since the 1900sNAMA is advocating for action to accelerate the progress of gender equality, and by putting these issues at the center stage to develop an ecosystem that can realize the full potential of women. “

NAMA affiliates call for retraining and sustainable practices

As part of NAMA’s participation plan, SBWC will host an innovative promotion event for women entrepreneurs and lead discussions on sustainable business practices while exploring opportunities for women in emerging industries such as Argi-tech.

Irthi will discuss the importance of building global connections through culture and emphasize ways to advance the handicraft, textile and design industries through sustainable handicraft practices, while Badiri will host an interactive seminar to highlight the importance of women’s skills and retraining.
