Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Dubai from London on Saturday, accompanied by his daughter Mariam Nawaz, the party’s senior vice-chairman.
The Muslim leader is expected to spend three to four days in the UAE before heading to Saudi Arabia to spend Eid al-Adha with his family and perform Umrah.
Mariam, accompanied by her family, departed Lahore Airport for Dubai earlier today.
A day earlier, the three-time prime minister confirmed he would visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia for about three weeks.
He is expected to hold meetings with members of the royal family, local businessmen and community leaders.
Hussein Nawaz, the former prime minister’s eldest son, also told reporters that his father would travel to Dubai and make the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Baz arrived in London after a trip to Paris and met with his older brother Nawaz.
The Muslim League-Northern leader spent the last Eid al-Fitr with his family in the kingdom, with Prime Minister Shebaz and other family members spending the last days of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with him.
PML-N sources said Nawaz will return to Pakistan in the next few months.
