1. Intercity bus from Dubai to Abu Dhabi

One of the most affordable options is to use intercity public buses from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. These are the bus routes currently operating between Dubai and Abu Dhabi:

Bus fares for this tour may vary depending on time and route. However, you must carry a Nol card with you if you intend to take an intercity bus. Nol cards come in three categories – blue, silver and gold

The fourth option is ‘Nol red ticket’ which is a one-time paper card which is a one-time ticket which you can use on your travels. However, it is important to note that a red ticket only allows you to use one form of transport (for example, bus, metro or tram). A one-way Nol red ticket to Abu Dhabi costs Dh25.

2. Shuttle Bus Service from Dubai to Abu Dhabi Airport

If you’re flying from Abu Dhabi International Airport, two airlines offer free shuttle services to passengers: Etihad Airways and Wizz Air.

• Etihad Airways

If you’ve booked a flight with Etihad Airways, you can use their complimentary coach service, which offers services from Dubai or Al Ain to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

How to book coach service with Etihad Airways?

Etihad Airways advises passengers to make reservations 24 hours before travel. Passengers without a confirmed booking will not be able to board the bus.

Dubai pickup location:

Behind the newly built Safestway supermarket on Sheikh Zayed Road, there is a bus stop dedicated to the Etihad Airways shuttle service. Shuttle buses can be identified by their bus number starting with “EY”.

• Wizz Air

This service is available for passengers traveling on Wizz Air flights. When booking with Wizz Air you can opt for the shuttle bus service and the bus fare will be included in your Wizz Air ticket.

The shuttle bus will stop at Terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Abu Dhabi International Airport for passengers from Ibn Battuta Bus Station.

3. Taxi

If you prefer to take a taxi, you can book a taxi through the Careem app for Apple and Android devices. RTA licensed taxis can be booked through the app under the ‘Hara Taxi’ category.

How to book “Hala Taxi”?

1. Open the Careem app and select the ‘Hala Taxi’ category.
2. Next, enter your destination in the search bar.
3. Then select your pickup location. If you would like the taxi to pick you up from your current location, click the “Pick Up” button or manually enter your location in the search bar.
4. Click the “Yalla” button and choose whether you want to pay by cash or credit card.
5. Next, the app will detect if there is a taxi near you and notify the driver if it is available to pick you up.

You also have the option of booking a private taxi through Uber or Careem.

The cost of travel will depend on the origin and final destination of your trip.If you book “Hala Taxi”, the cost to get to Abu Dhabi can be between Dh100 to Dh300.

Fares may be slightly higher if you book a private taxi.
