Netflix Renews Series “Ginny and Georgia” In two more seasons, a new showrunner is appointed to helm the next installment.
Debra J. Fisher executive produced the show’s first two seasons, which arrive on Netflix in January 2021 and December 2022. Seasons three and four will be overseen by former “Degrassi” producer Sarah Glinski.
Glinski’s appointment came before the Writers Guild of America strike.
Finally we see the dynamic mother-daughter duo, Georgia (Brian Howey) marrying Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter) in a dreamlike wedding, but the police use the murder of Tom Fuller as an excuse. The wedding is interrupted by arresting her. Private detective Gabriel Cordova (Alex Mallary Jr.) finally finds evidence of Georgia’s past criminal activity as he’s been stalking her for two seasons. Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Austin (Diesel La Torraca) watch her drive away in a police car while Zion (Nathan Mitchell), Ginny’s father, and Joe (Raymond Ablack) stand on the side of the street.
Georgia’s violent, abusive ex-husband Jill Timmins (Aaron Ashmore) also returns to her son Austin’s life. Georgia also discusses future possibilities with Joe, who confesses his feelings for her. That leaves four in line for Georgia’s hand.
When Austin broke into their house to confront Georgia, Austin defiantly defied his father, who took a gun and shot him. It took Scott a while to recover, but he married Georgia anyway.
