Abu Dhabi will acquire a large-scale facility providing storage and handling services and office space for businesses in the metals industry.
The 450,000-square-meter integrated metals park has broken ground in the Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), part of AD Ports Group.
The facility is close to the deepwater Khalifa Port. It will provide leased office space with state-of-the-art facilities to support the company’s storage and handling, processing and manufacturing activities.
The goal is to reduce operating costs “easily” by enabling businesses to adapt to market demand without infrastructure constraints, according to a statement on Monday.
“The project will provide the metals industry with an ideal platform to service a growing number of construction, infrastructure and industrial development projects in the Middle East and African markets,” the statement said.
Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, said that through the project, more businesses will consider KEZAD as a key location for their expansion.
“Abu Dhabi is currently home to some of the largest suppliers of key raw materials in the region and our aim is that as this one-stop shop project develops, more businesses will be able to look to KEZAD as a key location where they can Expand your business there and expand your international reach.”
