LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana (KPLC) – Lake Charles welcomed a new business.
“About a year and a half ago, we started looking at how we would expand, where would we go, what the expansion would look like,” managing director Tim Robles said.
Lake Area Adventures is expanding by building a family entertainment center. The 35,000-square-foot facility is located in the former Stine Lumber on Country Club Road.
“We want to bring more service to this family to Lake Charles in southwest Louisiana,” Robles said. “This property here has been in our sights.”
It will feature a restaurant, event space, game length, temperature-controlled swimming pool, video game lounge and inflatable sky park.
“We’re very excited about this,” Robles said. “It was actually built in the UK and will be shipped here. We designed it, rendered it and we’re excited to see it come to life.”
The facility will also bring something new to the area.
“We’re also bringing the first bouldering system to areas in Arizona that are currently being designed and engineered,” Robles said.
The entertainment center will open as early as January 2023, while the company will continue to operate from its current Common Street location and work on its lakefront development.
“We want to provide this family with a facility where they can now answer the question of ‘what is there to do in Lake Charles,'” Robles said.
