As for other expensive places — Newark, New Jersey and Long Beach, California — are among the top five most expensive places to live.

Some of the most affordable cities to live in are Wichita, Detroit, Michigan, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Anchorage, Alaska.
