New York City provides people with $100 vaccinations

[ad_1]

As the number of Covid cases continues to rise, New York City officials believe they know what will prompt citizens to get vaccinated quickly — hard cash.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (Bill de Blasio) said that starting this Friday, New York City will pay $100 to anyone who travels to a city-operated vaccination site to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

A few days ago, De Blasio stated that all city workers must be vaccinated or pass strict weekly testing procedures.

Due to the delta variant of the coronavirus, the city has seen a surge in cases and also provides incentives, NBC New York Report. Last Friday, the daily rolling average of new cases was 32% higher than a week ago.

According to the New York State Department of Health, 45% to 65% of New Yorkers are fully vaccinated, depending on the district.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday that cities in high-spread areas—which certainly includes New York City—should “seriously consider” adopting the CDC’s new guidelines for vaccinated people to wear masks indoors, although this is not the case. It must be mandatory.

If $100 seems to be a good change, other states have already provided more money to vaccinate.

Back to May, Governor of Ohio Announcing that vaccination will automatically enter the adult lottery worth $1 million. The vaccinated teenagers participated in a separate sweepstakes that provided full scholarships as prizes to any school in the state.

“I know some people might say,’DeWine, you are crazy! Your multimillion-dollar painting idea is a waste of money. But it is true that at this point in the pandemic, it is a real waste-when any Anyone who wants a vaccine can get a vaccine at any time — a life lost due to COVID-19,” wrote Ohio Governor Mike Devin.
