noida: Noida businessman – wrongly detained by Abu Dhabi government for wrong identity – landed in India in the early hours of Sunday, October 16, 2022. Noida-based businessman Praveen Kumar has been accused of mistaking him for the criminal they were looking for. Praveen Kumar was garlanded at the airport after landing in India from Abu Dhabi, where he was wrongly arrested by police – and later released.
After landing in India, Praveen Kumar told ANI that the CID detained me once at the airport and let me go, after which they detained me a second time on my way to leave.

“They kept me overnight, forced me to accept that I was another person, put me in a cell in the morning, took me to another city, held me again and interrogated me. I would like to thank PM Modi and CM Adityanath for their work in this matter. swift action,” added Praveen Kumar.
Earlier, after news of Praveen Kumar being detained abroad, Gautam Buddh Nagar DM SL Yathiraj told ANI that according to Abu Dhabi Police, a Praveen Kumar from Habibpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, was arrested at the airport in Abu Dhabi Police custody. Information provided by the family submitting the application for his release.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indian Embassy and the state’s Home Office have all been notified. It is worth mentioning that the local police also conducted an investigation into the case. Praveen Kumar was released on Saturday, officials said.
