Leading Norwegian group Norsk Hydro (commonly known as Hydro) has announced that it has fully acquired Hueck Systems, the world’s leading manufacturer of aluminum profile systems for windows, doors and facade applications, headquartered in Germany.
A global player in aluminum and renewable energy, Hydro has a significant presence in the region through its key division Technal.
It is a market leader in building systems, creating innovative and durable aluminum solutions designed to inspire contemporary architecture.
Hydro’s Building Systems division brings together 2800 employees in 29 countries. Several brands of the group have an 18% market share in Europe.
Regarding the acquisition of Hueck, the Norwegian group said that this milestone demonstrates its commitment to the European construction industry by creating value and better serving European clients by partnering with two renowned organizations.
However, Hydro said in its statement that UAE-based Hueck Middle East Aluminum System will continue to operate as an independent partner and will be licensed to use the Hueck trademark under an existing licensing agreement.
With this strategic move, Hydro aims to further its sustainability strategy through recovery and circular solutions, it added.
Welcoming Hueck to the Nydro family, Sam Robinson, Managing Director, Middle East, India and South East Asia, said: “We are deepening our digital approach to support the growth of the construction industry, and we are advancing the development of new and innovative products.”
“This acquisition enables us to accelerate our growth strategy and business in Europe and leverage activities outside the region,” he noted.
According to Robinson, the Hueck Middle East Aluminum System is not part of the deal and has no relationship to the operation of Hydro Building Systems Middle East.
The same applies to Hueck Middle East Aluminum Systems and MJ Metals Egypt in Egypt, and Hueck Middle East Metal Manufacturing, MJ Metals DMCC, MJ Building Materials Trading DMCC in the UAE.-TradeArabia News Service
