DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) has selected Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL ) to transform and build an advanced computing environment to fast-track research projects and drive measurable scientific results.
NYUAD selected Dell PowerEdge servers powered by AMD EPYC™ processors, which can perform faster due to the high core count in the CPU (up to 64 cores per socket), high memory capacity and fast IO capabilities Adopted by HPC customers. The process is further accelerated by NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs, connected to high-performance NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand networking, Dell networking, and Dell Professional Services.
With Dell PowerEdge servers, NYUAD will be able to use AI and HPC initiatives to access raw data, improve predictive accuracy and produce faster, smarter research results — powered by AMD EPYC™ processors, NVIDIA A100 GPUs and NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand High performance. Purpose-built architecture delivers a leap in performance, enabling unparalleled scientific computing, artificial intelligence, and cloud data center operations at lower cost and complexity.
As part of this collaboration, NYUAD has also been named one of Dell’s seven global Centers of Excellence (COEs) dedicated to supporting discoveries that advance science and society through the application of advanced computing technologies. Partnering with NVIDIA, AMD and Dell, the COE will enable NYUAD to design and test cutting-edge solutions, collaborate with global innovators and establish industry best practices. The university will have access to Dell experts to exchange ideas and collaborate on high performance computing, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and support the region in driving knowledge-based research and discovery.
