Poland said it spotted an observation balloon in its airspace that appeared to be coming from the direction of Belarus.
Radar contact with the object was lost near the central Polish town of Rypin, about 180 miles from the Belarusian border, the country’s Defense Ministry said on Twitter.
The Armed Forces said the object was spotted at around 8.30pm on Friday and was monitored by radar, but it was no longer visible at around 12.30am on Saturday.

It’s an event that might bring back memories Chinese spy balloon across America, sparked diplomatic spats and national security concerns.
Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which lies on Poland’s eastern border, there have been two other known incursions into Polish airspace.
In November, a missile landed in eastern Poland, killing two Polish men.
Western officials say they believe a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile went astray as the Ukrainian air force tried to repel a massive Russian attack.
Polish military and political officials also faced the problem of another object, which landed on Polish territory in December but was only accidentally spotted by a member of the public riding horses in a forest until April.
The issue has raised questions about the authorities’ handling of its air defenses amid new risks posed by the war in Ukraine.
