Oliver Wyman appoints Adel Alfalasi as new head of UAE, HRME News, ETHRWorldME


Oliver Wymana global management consulting firm and a business of Marsh McLennan has appointed Adel germination as its new head United Arab Emirates. In this role, Alfalasi will oversee the management consultancy’s operations in the United Arab Emirates.

Alfalasi has over two decades of experience in senior roles in the private and public sectors in the UAE, working as Executive Director in the UAE Prime Minister’s Office before turning to management consulting.

Alfalasi succeeds Anshu Vats in this role.after more than 30 years industryVats will assume a key role as senior thematic advisor to the firm globally and will continue to be an integral part of Oliver Wyman’s India, Middle East and Africa presence.

Commenting on the appointment, Pedro Oliveira, Managing Partner at Oliver Wyman IMEA, said: “Adel’s track record in leading large-scale transformations, his deep expertise in the public sector, his Field insight, as well as his in-depth knowledge of the UAE landscape gives him a unique perspective that will help us bring a strong impact to our clients across the UAE. We have full confidence in his ability to oversee the UAE business, which is very important to us It’s a very important market.”

Of his new role, Alfalasi said: “What I love about my job is that we make positive change while staying true to our values, which includes striving for breakthroughs. This is also the ethos of the UAE. The work we do contributes to our country’s economic growth, which in turn contributes to social development.”

Alfalasi works in Oliver Wyman’s Public Sector Practice and is an expert on topics including large-scale transformation and public sector excellence.He is currently writing a book new silk road Working with Hong Kong-based Oliver Wyman Partner Ben Simpfendorfer. The duo are exploring new dynamics in the Middle East and Asia — which account for 45 percent of the global economy — and how the business story is no longer a simple exchange of goods, but now also involves capital, talent, and technology.

Alfalasi is also responsible for leading Oliver Wyman’s Consultant Development Program in the UAE, a 6-12 month program that helps develop future talent by giving UAE graduates hands-on consultancy experience to kick-start their careers. He is also a board member of Injaz, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship in the Arab world.
