Oman 14-Day Tourist Visa Rules Updated to Make Travel Easier
The Oman 14-day tourist visa has received an important update, making travel more flexible for eligible visitors. Under the revised rules introduced by the Royal Oman Police, travellers from more than 100 countries can continue to enter Oman without a visa for stays of up to 14 days.
Those who wish to stay longer can now extend their visit to one month by paying a fee of OMR 20. The change is aimed at supporting Oman’s growing tourism sector and making travel more convenient. Previously, visitors using the visa-free entry scheme had to leave the country after 14 days.
The new extension option gives eligible travellers more flexibility, allowing them to enjoy a longer stay without having to leave and reapply immediately.
To qualify for the Oman 14-day tourist visa, visitors must meet the country’s entry requirements. These include holding a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed hotel booking, a return or onward ticket, valid health insurance and sufficient funds to cover their stay.
Citizens of GCC countries, including the UAE, continue to enjoy visa-free entry into Oman. Tourism officials believe the updated rules will encourage more visitors to explore Oman, especially travellers looking for short holidays and weekend getaways from across the Gulf.
The move also supports the country’s long-term strategy to strengthen tourism, attract international visitors and contribute to economic growth.
