Over the years, Korean music has gained a loyal following around the world.
United Arab Emirates fans Special one-off concert at the Etihad Arena Saturday in Abu Dhabi. It features musicians like Zico, Loco, Paul Kim, Woogie, Peakboy, Sik-K, Jay B, P1Harmony, The Rose and Dvwn, all of whom are performing in the Middle East for the first time.
Thousands of Korean music fans from across the region attended the K-Festival, some of whom flew in with banners to welcome their favorite artists.
Rapper Loco, 32, expressed surprise at the number of fans he has in the area. Meanwhile, South Korean singer-songwriter Paul Kim, 34, was surprised by the warm reception he received.
“I saw a lot of fans in Yas Mall and I was surprised how many people came to say hello. It was really surprising because I was wearing a mask and looked casual,” Kim told National.
“It’s a whole new experience for me because I didn’t expect anyone to recognize me here, but I’m grateful and wish I had more opportunities to perform in front of you.”
While some of the artists stayed in the UAE for a few days, Kim returned to South Korea the same night due to a prior commitment.
“I promise I’ll be back just for the trip, maybe with my friends,” he said. “Maybe the next time I come, I’ll want to try a different activity.”
Kim rose to fame for producing original soundtracks for Korean dramas, such as Luna Hotel.
During K-Festival, he performed his hits every day, every moment and i am after you. He says he doesn’t have a personal favorite on his tracklist. “I love all my songs, they are my kids.”
However, he said he would recommend if anyone wanted to hear him for the first time too long Because the song itself has a special meaning.
“It can be used to say goodbye. It also shows how much you love someone.”
Peakboy with the same name, real name Kwon Sung-hwan, also appeared on the stage Qiaobo hairstyle. He and Kim also played together at one point, serenade the crowd with their latest collaboration, how to love.
“When I first started making how to love, I thought about Paul Kim, then I met him for coffee, I recommended the song to him, and he agreed right away,” Kwon said.
K-pop boy band P1Harmony also enjoyed their first visit to the UAE, bringing their energy and enthusiasm to the concert. “We promise we’ll be back,” member Keeho said.
The band starts their show with their hit song doom duham from their mini album Harmony: Zeroing and black hole.
The six-piece band is one of the youngest to debut in 2020.They are through a P1H: New World BeginsAfter the pandemic eased, they were finally able to go on tour and said it was “unreal” to meet their fans in the UAE for the first time.
