As part of PENN Entertainment’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and active-duty military personnel, the company established the PENN Entertainment Military Scholarship at Penn State Berks. The scholarship will be provided through a multi-year, $50,000 commitment and further support the local Berks County community where PENN Corporation is headquartered.
Penn State Berks is committed to helping veteran students and active duty military students achieve their educational goals while providing a supportive environment. Currently, nearly 50 veteran students are enrolled at Penn State Berks. This scholarship may be awarded to a veteran, active duty military, reservist, or member of the National Guard with financial need.
“We are pleased to partner with Penn State Berks on this scholarship, which strengthens our support for the military and local communities,” said Eric Schippers, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Chair of the ESG Committee at PENN Entertainment. “Penn is passionate about honoring and empowering our nation’s heroes, and this scholarship adds to our overall military recruiting and honoring efforts.”
Penn State Berks Interim Chancellor Todd Migliaccio said, “Opportunities like the PENN Entertainment Military Scholarship are important not only to support our veterans financially and allow them to focus on their academic success, but also to let them know they are part of the Penn State Berks campus community important member.”
Each scholarship will be awarded for one academic year and is renewable, provided the recipient continues to meet eligibility conditions and funds are available.
