on wednesday’s show Family Trip with the Meyers Brothers Pete Davidson revealed on the podcast that his mother defended him on social media during his tenure on NBC’s late-night show, despite unsuccessful attempts to use a pseudonym. Seth and Josh Meyers are the show’s co-hosts.

You know the traditional SNL trajectory: You get the show first, everyone likes you, then they stop and you actually You have to be good at the show, and then they’ll like you again.”
“It was my second or third year, and there were a lot of ‘he’s useless’ typical comments on Twitter,” he continued. “My mom created a damn fake twitter account with the name JoeSmith1355 and responded to everyone.”
Davidson shared that his mother has done little to hide who she really is, and gave very specific answers about his private life, “very specific, like, ‘Actually, I’ve heard he’s working for himself and often this way.'”
“They found out because her username was JoeSmith, but her profile name was Amy Davidson and her profile picture was Amy Davidson,” he revealed. “So, here’s a picture of my mum with the name JoeSmith1355 commenting on all these haters…she’s rooting for me, man.”
