Motorsports body Pinnacle Motorsport and Van Amersfoort Racing have announced they will join forces to form a team called Pinnacle Var to compete in the UAE Formula 4 and Formula Middle East championships.
Pinnacle Motorsport has enjoyed considerable success in this part of the world, with the team finishing second in 2020, 2021 and 2022, when the series was still named the F3 Asia Championship and the Formula Asia Championship.
They also increased their participation in the region last season, sending two cars to the Emirates Formula 4 Championship, but they failed to score any points throughout the season.
The team joining Pinnacle this time is the Van Amersfoort Racing team. This team has a deep foundation and rich resources, and it is one of the teams with the best reputation among European teams.
The Netherlands-based team has raced the cars in various European series such as Formula 2, Formula 3 and the Formula Regional European Championship, and this new adventure across the globe is the most exciting part of Van Amersfoort’s story new chapter.
Pinnacle Motorsport Team Director John O’Hara Gain insight into why teams are teaming up for the 2023 season, “I am looking forward to the new season in Formula Middle East and UAE F4 with Van Amersfoort Racing. We have great respect for what they have achieved and what they are capable of.
“Now, we join forces with one of the best teams in Europe and we want to share knowledge and experience not only through VAR, but also race wins as we work together.”
Pinnacle VAR will have a total of seven cars entering the two championships for the 2023 season.

The new Formula Regional Middle East will visit five events across three circuits in just six weeks. The series will make two stops at the Dubai Autodrome and one at the F1 Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The highlight of the season is the Kuwait Motor City in Kuwait. The Hermann Türk-designed FIA Grade 1 facility opened in December 2019 and will host rounds 2 and 3 of the 2023 championship.
