PMO Global Alliance UAE Community Centre launches in Dubai

The two entities joined forces to organise the International PMO Connectivity Day at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

The municipality said the move enables local PMO professionals to exchange knowledge and best practices through collaboration in various initiatives hosted by the center to achieve milestones for organizations and professionals on a global scale.

“This one-of-a-kind event brings together PMOs and professionals from all over the world under one roof, in line with the directives of wise leadership to foster a spirit of competition across all sectors in the UAE. The event is part of the Dubai Municipality’s effort to support Dubai The efforts made by the PMO sector to develop and promote the vision of becoming a leading city in the world,” said a statement from the city government.

The event fosters networking and exchange of expertise among international professionals in the field, with the aim of promoting the development of project management offices, agencies and staff locally, regionally and internationally.

A panel discussion was held on the theme “How PMOs Are on Top of the World”. Heba Al Shehhi, Head of Dubai Municipality PMO and President of PMOGA UAE Centre, attended the meeting; Americo Pinto, Founder and Chairman, PMO Global Alliance; Christoph Hirnle, Managing Director, Meisterplan; Mazin Gadir, UAE Chapter Representative, Project Management Association; Farah AlHanbali, EY MENA Human Resources Senior Manager, Consulting Services; Obi Omoregie, Head of Project Management Capability, Nawah Energy.

Pinto delivered a keynote titled “What Makes a World-Class PMOs”, laying out best practices for PMOs to achieve desired goals as they aim to achieve universality.

The PMO Connect Day is based on the City of Dubai’s achievements in the field – including the 2021 World’s Best Project Management Entity award at the PMO Global Awards, a prestigious award in the project management industry.

The PMO Global Alliance is the world’s largest community of project management offices and professionals, with more than 13,000 members from 123 countries. Their mission is to lead, support and facilitate the development of PMOs. They ensure the adoption of best international practices and provide professional credentials in the field, which help the institution achieve its goal of securing a leading position in the field.
