However, in this episode, she explained to Tamron in more detail that although she was a ten-year former actor in The Real Housewives of Atlanta, other alleged victims revealed their trauma in the documentary. “Surviving R. Kelly,” she was not ready to speak. This is because she has not recovered. The reality star made it clear that she had grown up when she met the singer, but said she didn’t know her self-worth or value herself.
Although Porsha mentioned R. Kelly’s name in her book, she said that he was not the only one who blamed him for the mental abuse she experienced. “He is just one of the predators in my life. He used me and abused me mentally. So I think he is no different from those men. The same darkness, the same treatment, they faced and encountered the same unawareness Porsha of my own worth,” she explained. The mother and entrepreneur went on to say that she did not love herself at the time.
As the conversation continued, Tamron asked Porsha about her sexual contact with R. Kelly and why she wrote that she put herself in that position. “I have done a lot of blaming the victims and humiliating myself many times. That’s what kept me silent for a long time. I couldn’t openly oppose any sexual abuse I encountered in my life,” she recalled.
