Power of the batting order is critical, says Northern Warriors assistant coach Jacob Oram

Abu Dhabi [UAE]2nd November (ANI): Former New Zealand cricketer Jacob Oram, assistant coach of Abu Dhabi’s T10 team Northern Warriors, wants to see a power hit at the top of the batting order. Players get good grades.
The Northern Warriors have won the Abu Dhabi T10 twice and the New Zealanders are delighted to be working with a successful team and look to add a third title to the trophy cabinet.
“Our aim is to win, that’s why we’re here. If you look at our squad, there’s a lot of power at the top and a lot of players have been retained. It all has to do with the power at the top of the order. Relevant and making sure we fill holes with quality players. I’m slowly learning the tactics and game plan of the game. I’m looking forward to being stuck,” Olam said in a virtual interaction quoted by T10 in Abu Dhabi.
When asked if the T10 format would require a different shot in terms of preparation, the former pacemaker explained that flexible planning is essential.

“It’s more about just knowing the basic plan, you still have to play well. It’s also about variation and death bowling options. One has to adjust and be flexible faster than any other format. Essentially, it’s all about more than any specific Skills matter.”
The upcoming season will add two new teams, making it an 8-team tournament. Reflecting on the schedule and intensity of Abu Dhabi T10 Season 6, Oram said the balance between rest and play is crucial for teams.
“Everyone’s going to have a stripped-down schedule. It’s very intense, even if it’s only 60 balls. It’s not that long, but it’s going to be very intense and every ball will have something to ride on. So, both mentally It’s exhausting, emotionally and physically. It’s the ability to manage the rest and recovery and the game aspect, just getting the players to keep their bodies recovering is more important than anything else.”
For the first time for him, Oram was a key part of the player draft plan in the run-up to T10 Season 6 in Abu Dhabi.
“It’s actually very exciting, we have a lot of meetings before the player draft. We’ve gone through our plans, our priorities and our first-choice players. It’s a very different world for me, but it makes People were excited and happy. But it was a lot more planning and deeper analysis than I realized,” he signed. (ANI)
