Dubai-based Prime Healthcare has broken ground on its new hospital in Dubai Healthcare City.
Designed by leading international design and consultancy firm Stantec, the AED 450 million (US$ 122 million) project will be a nine-storey building; 33,000 square meters of A wide range of other specialties offer advanced non-invasive interventional procedures and specialized rehabilitation facilities.
Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), laid the foundation stone to mark the start of construction of the mega-hospital project, in the presence of senior officials including Jamal Abdulsalam, CEO of Dubai Healthcare Urban Authority, and Essa Al Ghurair, Chairman of Essa Al Ghurair Investments , Dr. Jamil Ahmed, Founder and Managing Director, Prime Healthcare.
Regarding the new facility, Dr Ahmed said: “Prime Healthcare Group is committed to forging new paths in transformative, technology and digitally driven healthcare. The new hospital will provide specialist diagnosis, care and treatment for complex heart, lung and cancer conditions. , and it will also feature leading-edge treatment technologies – dedicated robotic surgery, hybrid operating theater and hybrid catheterization lab.”
Kevin Christon, Regional Director of Stantec, said: “This pivotal facility makes a significant contribution to the UAE’s growing healthcare landscape and will provide the community with advanced care.”
The hospital will have three centers of excellence in heart, lung and oncology, he said.
The Center of Excellence in Cardiac Care will offer a range of invasive, non-invasive diagnostic procedures, as well as interventional procedures for coronary artery disease, valvular disease, structural heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias.
The Center of Excellence in Pulmonary Care will address all aspects of the diagnosis, management and treatment of respiratory diseases.
Patients at the Marie Curie Cancer Institute (MCCI) will have a 360-degree comprehensive cancer care system.
