Private sector declares Eid holidays

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday announced holidays for private sector employees ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Private sector employees will be closed from Thursday, April 20 to Sunday, April 23, 2023. They must return to work on April 24. These four days will be paid holidays.

“The period from Ramadan 29, 1444 AH to Shawwal 3, corresponding to the Gregorian calendar dates, will be a paid holiday for all private sector workers in the country on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr,” the Ministry of Human Resources (MoHRE) said in a Twitter post.

Emirati astronomers said on April 3 that April 21 is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.

About Eid

Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important Islamic festivals celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The holiday marks the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramzan. It’s a time of joy and celebration as family and friends come together to enjoy the festivities.

Eid is usually celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar. However, the exact date depends on the appearance of the crescent. The festival lasts for three days and is a time of forgiveness, compassion and gratitude.
