Quantum computing cuts ‘time to problem solving’

According to Jan Goetz, CEO and co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers, quantum computing enables people to solve problems exponentially faster.

“If you want to simulate a molecule, with an ordinary computer, it would take millions of years, but with quantum, it solves this problem in days or minutes. We find this problem in all industries. In optimization and In the category of supply chain problems, quantum is a disruptive technology that can solve some of those problems,” he said in a session titled “Quantum Leaps: Transforming Industries with Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence” at the Investopia 2023 conference.

He also noted: “We are in the early days of this emerging technology and there is a huge opportunity to build the industry together. As technology disrupts every industry, it is important to create opportunities for people to maintain a sense of fulfillment.”

Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing

Thought leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world discussed the opportunities AI and quantum computing present to optimize efficiency and growth across industries.

Speakers presented their thoughts on integrating technology into all aspects of work to create opportunities and solve common problems. They explore different elements of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and the metaverse, and their game-changing potential to ensure purposeful work and contributions to society at large.

In the context of a new economic landscape driven by rapid technological development, quantum computing investment will become the new economy in the next two years.

The Metaverse has the potential to offer new opportunities in the field of education, and the creation of virtual experiences goes beyond video games and can serve a purpose. Finally, he emphasized the need for a thorough understanding of the types and kinds of skills and infrastructure we need as an industry to prepare for this dynamic future.

Chat GPT

Joanna Shields, CEO of BenevolentAI, highlighted the increased use and mainstream understanding of general language models such as ChatGPT, as well as the potential ethical challenges associated with AI. She highlighted the exciting development of large language models for specific purposes, such as deciphering complex diseases, and the ability to ingest data from multiple sources to aid decision-making.

From an investment standpoint, she’s noticing the technology’s real-world impact. However, she emphasized the importance of a multi-stakeholder approach and working with organizations and experts to raise awareness about ethical AI. Shields also discussed the need to put the technology in the hands of thousands of scientists to better understand disease biology and impact society more broadly.

Improbable CEO and Co-Founder Herman Narula highlights the potential of the Metaverse and its applications in various industries including sports, music, gaming and defense. He emphasized the importance of making virtual worlds meaningful and creating new opportunities for people as the way we work and operate will transform.

Singularity AI

He believes that the idea that Singularity AI is perfect on every problem is a misconception, and instead we may see many specialized AI models for different purposes. However, he said AI is already smarter than humans in some areas.

The theme of Investopia Conference 2023 is “Envisioning Opportunities in an Era of Change” with three sub-themes: Envisioning Opportunities in Today’s Economy, The Future of National Wealth, and Growth Opportunities in an Era of Decarbonization. This year’s conference included 35 sessions and roundtables, bringing together more than 2,000 participants including investors, government officials, thought leaders and entrepreneurs from more than 40 countries. —— trade arab news agency
